Candy Bar Identification Quiz

You can take the quiz here. I got a 14 out of 20. It made me realize there are alot of candy bars I have never tried (Skor, Mars, Chunky Oh Henry, Zagnut). (via Coudal)

Lego Digital Designer

Lego Digital Designer

Lego released a new version of the Lego Digital Designer, a free application that allows you to build your own virtual Lego structures. You can do “free build” or you can pick from one of their starter models. The coolest part may be that you can build a model in the digital designer, then upload it to the Lego website and order a custom Lego kit with all the pieces you used for your digital creation. Bird Balls Make Water Drinkable Again

Ivanhoe

The water in the Ivanhoe Reservoir was being contaminated by a reaction caused by sunlight and birds, so the community came up with a solution that solved both problems. They released hundreds of thousands of plastic balls, called “Bird Balls”, to cover the surface. The balls block the water from the sun and birds are averse to them. Make sure to check out an article at Curbed LA for interesting facts about the project. (via 37signals)

Mixtape USB Drive

Mixtape USB Drive

The mixtape goes from a cassette, to a burned CD, to a Muxtape, and back around again with the Mixtape USB Drive. Load a tape’s worth of songs on the USB drive, write out the playlist on the tape cover and give it to someone you love. (via Uncrate)

Skip A Step While Cooking Chicken

I saw this bit of interesting news over at The Kitchn. I have always rinsed off chicken before I cook it but apparently that’s not necessary or even recommended. The USDA says it can cause cross-contamination in your kitchen by spreading bacteria over the sink and countertops. It’s not like it going to save me a ton of time but anything to make cooking easier and faster is good by me.

Pantone Badges For A Spot Of Color

Pantone Color Badges

Effektive Design created these little buttons based on the Pantone matching system. According to the designer:

The badges are created as mobile swatches which can be used to add an accent colour to any outfit or perhaps (as shown) simply act as a colour identifier for a particular piece of clothing.

Quite an impressive cake. I especially like the inclusion of Rainbow Road. (via Coudal)
